DIANA GIRON-REYES

My name is Diana and I'm from in Long Island, New York. I grew up in the towns of Hempstead and Uniondale, which very much influenced my upbringing. I love the atmosphere, the culture, the diversity, and all the vibrant people on the streets. All these things definitely open my eyes to a very unique, colorful world fill with all types of styles.

Growing up, I always had a passion for fashion, but never really knew I could make a career out of it. I was always intrigued with the endless possibilities of clothing combinations that I could create using what little clothes I had. I love the feeling of being as creative as I could and making an outfit look cool and completely different every time. I love the feeling of looking good, but most importantly feeling good. And that's exactly how I want everyone to feel about fashion.

I enroll to Nassau Community College and major in Fashion Buying and Merchandising. I knew this wasn't exactly the direction I wanted to go in the fashion industry, therefore I quickly transferred to The Fashion Institute of Technology and major in Surface Textile Designs and Fabric Styling. This allowed me to explore the world of textile patterns and how to style around that by adding my own twist to styling clothing.

With my education and abilities to interpret fashion textiles and fabric styling, I know that I am able to work anywhere in the fashion industry spectrum from styling, to trend forecasting, and designing innovative pattern designs.
